Composer and sound designer Michael Licht uses music as a way of conveying otherwise inexpressible emotions, using it as a vicarious sense of empathy. Born in Portland, Ore., remade in Los Angeles with a foray into London, and now back in Los Angeles, Michael draws on his background in heavy metal and post-rock to create a unique mixed-orchestra aesthetic. This gives his music a wide sonic tapestry, mixing classical and Hollywood-style scores with a post-modern approach to sound design and harmony. Beyond media composing, he still remains active in his personal post-rock project Luminous Beings.Contact:
